Sadie and I were supposed to drive out to the lake today with Bebe to get the lakehouse ready for a girls' weekend this weekend (yay, girl time. Can't wait!) Sadie had other ideas. She was pitching a hissy fit minutes before we were supposed to leave. This may have been the biggest toddler tantrum we have experienced yet. Red-faced, screaming, crocodile tears, kicking...the whole 9 yards. So, lest you think our little angel doesn't have some fight in her, this is proof. Ultimately, we changed our plans with the thought of 2 hours locked in a car with the little monster. So, Bebe went on the the lake and we headed home. My mind was racing as I drove home thinking, "how am I going to keep her entertained without turning on Elmo," which by the way was the only word she could utter during the fit. Then I remembered, it's Tuesday! Storytime with Miss Elizabeth at the Yarborough Branch of the Austin Public Library. What a life saver! She, of course, was fine by the time we got there. And like nothing had happened, she sees Lucy Hamre and says, "Hi, Lucy" clear as day! All is well. She is sleeping and we are going to try to get back to our routine after 4 nights at Bebe and Papa's house for wedding and Restaurant Week festivities.
